This is the Survivor Tree at the Oklahoma City National Memorial. It is a huge elm tree, over 80 years old and is absolutely grand and magnificent. It stood across from the entrance of the Alfred P. Murrah building. It was hit hard by the 4,000 pound bomb - burned, shredded and slated for removal by the demolition crew. Survivors and community members begged for it to remian. 17 years later we have a fully recovered tree that means so much to this community. They have enscribed the ring with a tribute to all the responders who aided in search and rescue operations at the site.
